Windows 10: Network Broken Again - 22H2 and Windows Credentials

I have 3 PCs running Win11. After updating to 22H2, my network connections broke.I found some of the settings that the update flipped on me, but after trying to reset everything, I still have issues with my old friend Network Credentials.My ConfigurationBob: Windows 11 Pro, v.22H2Dot: Windows 11 Home, v.22H2Phong: Windows 11 Pro, v.22H2All have the following settings note the headings are a tad different with the latest update:Control Panel Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings Private network: Network discover: On Set up network conn

Network Credentials

Hi Sammy,

To assist you better regarding your concern with network credentials, have you checked the Windows credentials for any information about the username and password for the network credentials? If not yet, follow the steps below to access Windows Credentials
manager.

• Press the Windows icon on the desktop.
• Type in Windows Credentials.

We would appreciate as well if you could provide us a screenshot.

Windows Network Credentials

Hi Keith,

We suggest that you disable Credential Manager before mapping your Drives. Please follow these steps to disable Credential Manager:

• In the search box type “Services”
• Right click on “Services” and select “Run as Administrator”
• In the Services Window, look for Credential Manager Service and click “Stop”.
• Restart the computer and go back the Credential Manager Service and set it to “Automatic”.
• Restart the computer again.

Please keep us updated if you were able to map your drives.

 

Network Credentials Incorrect

File sharing has been broken since they removed Homegroup. So I give all the best resources for setting up and troubleshooting File Sharing, so if one thing doesn't work you can try another.

In your case you said you had a problem with Network Credentials so I provided everything possible to do for that as well.

You asked what is the point of trying to get into folder shares and permissions, the answer is that everything depends upon that.



I've helped thousands of users fix File Sharing problems in Windows 10. The ones who actually perform the steps almost always get it fixed, although it can be difficult. Those who complain about having to do too much work, and don't report back or engage on a single step, are of course not going to get it fixed.
