Network connection constantly disconnects. Restart only to get it back

So I have continually had an issue with the network connection dropping. Only way to get it back is to restart. Starting with the first preview build I installed this was an issue. I have tried disabling IPV6. I have disabled power management in the NIC and the problem just continues. If i try to disable the network connection after this has happened the computer locks up. If I uninstall the network card once this has happened it locks up as well. I can do both fine before this happens. I have performed the following commands ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /registerdns, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, NETSH winsock reset catalog, NETSH int ipv4 reset reset.log, and NETSH int ipv6 reset reset.log. Nothing out of the ordinary in the event viewer with the exception of "Name resolution for the name fg.ds.download.windowsupdate.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded". In order to use the system I have to disable any applications that use the network such as dropbox or onedrive or downloading of files in the browser. Im tired of being told its your network card. Its not. If I boot into windows 7 on the same PC I can use the connection without issues. I have now tried a second network card and it does the same thing. Please someone help. The computer is unusable at this point and I am contemplating just going back to my Windows 7 permanently and don't really want to do that. Also as a side note it seems the longer I let the machine sit after initial login the longer I can go before the issues pops up.

    :)

  2. Surface Pro with Windows 10 keeps disconnecting from the internet

I have a brand new Microsoft Surface Pro and it is constantly disconnecting from the internet. I have a reliable wi-fi connection - all other devices on the network are fine and always connected.

The only solution I have found is to restart the computer.

    Has anybody got a solution?

Constant Data Connection to MMS Access Point

I have a similar problem. My Nokia E51 is constantly connecting to an access point which I am not familiar with (WICSA05). If I disconnect in the Connection Manager it will connect again. I tried to go back to the Factory settings, but that does not help.

The strange thing is that in the Nokia manual it is said to be an Option/Disconnect all. I can only see the alternative Disconnect.

    Provide detailed system specs.

Easiest way: Press [Windows Key] + [R] and type "msinfo32" and open it.

Or do a start menu search for "msinfo32" and open it.

    Go to File > Export

Save file to desktop and either copy+paste its contents here, or upload the file to here or pastebin or wherever.

I am having the same issue. I have tried many of the same steps and it still disconnects every few hours. It was worse before I disabled the power management on the network adapter. I also tried disabling McAfee's firewall. And removing all the wired devices from my router thinking perhaps the router was overloaded. My wireless connections are all fine. Other devices wired to the router are fine. Just this PC keeps losing it's connection. I the drivers are up to date per the Windows 10 'Update Driver' check. To get the connection back, I have to reboot the PC and reset then LAN - neither alone work.

I have a Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet adapter. cnmsales, what adapter do you have? Another thread on here had the same adapter as I did. The only other correlation I found was that it is worse when the Philips Hue hub is connected to the router. It seems to me there is a router conflict and this connection gets shut down somehow. Then it does not auto reset. But I don't know much about network cards and routers so that's a very weak theory at the moment.

  10. Determine the chipset of your broadcom card. See this link on how to do it

Ethernet NIC Driver Support | Broadcom

    Then go to this link

    Downloads | Broadcom

and download the drivers for your chipset. Then update your drivers manually with the downloaded drivers.

No Broadcom Advanced Control Suite. And b57udiag doesn't isn't found when running that via the cmd prompt. My Device Id is also not in the device list. The ethernet adapter is integrated into the motherboard. That said, my motherboard from 2009 though it still does quite well. I did find the device id here: http://www.pcidatabase.com/vendor_details.php?id=767. I will have to open up the machine and look at the chip to see if I can determine the number.

Just to double-check, can you confirm you have gone into Device Manager, looked at Power Management within Properties, and unticked the option 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'?

  13. Network connection constantly disconnects. Restart only to get it back

I am having this exact problem, I have the same gigabit adapter. If i do facebook or youtube, it apparently pulls too much traffic and my connection completetly shuts off. I have tto do the troubleshoot tool, and that may fix it 2 out of 3 times. After that I have to hard reboot the entire system, then troubleshoot again, and it will ask to repair as adminstrator.

If i try to repair as admin from the getgo it wont work. Has ANYONE found a fix for this? Been dealing with this since the windows 10 launch.

  14. If you don't mind, speak to me as if i were a child that doesn't know how to use a TV remote. How exactly do you manually update your drivers? I've been to the broadcom sites and download drivers. none of them come in .exe files to easily update and I have no clue as to how to use these files.

  15. I found what seems to be a fix in a technical preview thread.

    Device Manager Method
Start Device Manager Network\Broadcom adapter Properties Toggle “Receive Side Scaling” to “Disabled” OK and reboot if necessary.

so far /fingerscrossed i've not had any drops and have watched a few youtube vids
