  1. Network Credentials

I am starting this question again because the thread has drifted from and never answered my question. No Wi-Fi, no new user name or password, just a straight answer to get past the Network Credentials dialog.

GIVEN: All PC's are on the home private network with all file sharing on and no passwords required. Read all the posts got everything set to share everything.

    1. Open File Explorer.

    2. Right click on ROB.

    3. Select "Open in new window".

BAM!...Here's the problem. I'm trying to connect to the PC named "ROB".

    Using NetPLWiz gives me this....

When I enter the User Name which is my email address and my password it doesn't work, says User Name or password is incorrect. No, thatis my correct email address and password.

File explorer shows all the PC's on the network but they are all blocked by the Network Credentials dialog that no one can tell me how to find the correct USER NAME and PASSWORD it is asking for.

All I want to do is transfer files from one PC to another. If this is something that must be done at the target computer, why do I even need a home network? By the time I get the correct login info from the target PC and set up home networking, I could have transferred the files carrying a flash drive to the target PC.

    :)

  2. Network Credentials

    Hi Sammy,

To assist you better regarding your concern with network credentials, have you checked the Windows credentials for any information about the username and password for the network credentials? If not yet, follow the steps below to access Windows Credentials
    manager.

    • Press the Windows icon on the desktop.
    • Type in Windows Credentials.
We would appreciate as well if you could provide us a screenshot.

Let us know how it goes.

    Windows Network Credentials

    Hi Keith,

We suggest that you disable Credential Manager before mapping your Drives. Please follow these steps to disable Credential Manager:

    • In the search box type “Services
    • Right click on “Services” and select “Run as Administrator
    • In the Services Window, look for Credential Manager Service and click “Stop”.
    • Restart the computer and go back the Credential Manager Service and set it to “Automatic”.
    • Restart the computer again.

Please keep us updated if you were able to map your drives.

  4. Network Credentials

    Edit Network Credentials

I just got my laptop back from the repair shop where the HD was wiped and Windows 10 reinstalled. I want to share other network devices, but I'm being asked for my Network Credentials. I don't know what they are. I can follow the steps to get to the credentials
details link from Control Panel, but I can't seem to change or remove the hidden password. Advice? Suggestions?

    TIA
