After running the recent updates from Microsoft, Network Diagnostics does not work. Windows 7 has a built-in "network diagnostic tool." You don't need to install it.

Perhaps you should explain ...

1. What "MS diagnostic tool" you're referring to, including where you found a reference to that tool
   
2. The details of the network problem you're trying to diagnose
   
3. The complete text of the error message you get when you try to run the "MS diagnostic tool"

 

Windows 10 update July 2017

Hello Meg,

it will tell you it was they last update on the computer. It should be the first recover option on the list, I only had one option to select.

Although my backup date was July 17, 2017.

Yours may be similar?

July 13 update killed ability to connect to the internet
