Windows 10: network drive

I just bought my new thinkpad t14s. I uses the network drive U: on both the new laptop ThinkPad T14s and my old laptop ThinkPad T14 . I ran a Python script on my new laptop that writes a shapefile approximately 400KB to the drive. Surprisingly, this process took around 200 seconds. However, when I ran the same script on the old laptop, it completed in just about 1 second.Both laptops were connected to the same wifi at the same time during these tests. I was wondering if there might be any settings on my new laptop that could be affecting the writing speed to the network drive. ?

Help needed with simple wired network

Step one- Connect all PC's to router, and then the router to the modem. PC's go to router by the ports labeled "1-4" on the back of the router. WAN port goes to router. Power up all network equipment, and then systems.
Step two- Power on the computer connected to port one. Go into router settings at 192.168.0.1 and configure internet, dyndns, firewall, etc.
Step three- Go to "network set up wizard" in windows. (Network places- network set up wizard). The rest is self explanatory.
Step four- right click on each drive and printer you want to share, and then configure sharing preferences. Should be easy enough.
Step five- right click my computer, and the select "map network drive". Using the network address for each piece of hardware you shared, assign network drive letters.

Unable to access Network drive

• What is the version of Windows 10 installed on the computer?
  
• What is the exact error message you’re getting while trying to access the network drive?
  
• Are you able to access the drive using its IP address?
  

I suggest to follow the steps posted by Pauli O and see if it works.
