Windows 10: Network, erratic wifi

Discus and support Network, erratic wifi in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I just upgrade my motherboard, CPU and RAM, reactivated Windows 10 and installed updates.     Network, erratic wifi


    I just upgrade my motherboard, CPU and RAM, reactivated Windows 10 and installed updates. Downloaded a couple more programs this morning and then the internet quit on me. I have two other computers on this wifi network and both have internet so I know that's OK. I have run the diagnostic and it tells me that "the default gateway is not available" What the heck does that mean and how do I resolve this please?

    The stupid thing is that every so often the icon shows that I have internet but when I open my browser (Firefox) it won't link to any sites.

    I am facing the exact same issues. (on India unlocked L820)

    1. Wifi Connectivity is erratic

    2. On reboot, it always asks to select a network operator..



    Hard reset is a laborius task, looking for other alternative suggestions.

    Win 10: WiFi disconnecting in sleep mode

    OK. I have done some more paying about.

    This time under Device Manager\Network Adapters\...wifi adapter...

    Properties\Power Management tab

    I re-ticked the top checkbox [ tick ] Allow the computer to turn off .....

    Now looks to be staying online when sleep is forced.

    I will be keeping an eye on this erratic behaviour and will report back if wifi disconnection problem reappears again.

    Try this:

    In Device Manager, right-click on the NIC and select Properties. Then go to the Power Management tab, and uncheck the box that says "let computer turn off to save power". See if that makes a difference.

    I can't find NIC in Device Manager, it's not listed.

    Sorry for the last post, I had to look up the meaning of NIC. Got it now and turned off the power saving but it didn't help. Still no Internet.

    Resolved it, the USB port that the Wifi dongle was plugged into is faulty. Moved the dongle and all is well. Thanks for the support guys
