    Network lag spikes


    So, recently I updated my Windows 10 computer and while playing games with my friends I've noticed severe lag spikes while playing, so I restarted my router and my PC. It didn't help. At first I thought it was just the game, but it wasn't. I did some ping tests and the lag spikes are way more severe than I thought. Here's a picture of my results: Network lag spikes ee4b963b-1534-4b60-bf26-665823a19889?upload=true.jpg This happens every 45 seconds or so, and the spike is around 400-600 ping every time. I'm not that much of a tech guy, so any and all help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    We would like to know more about your lag issue:

    • What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
    • Does the lag occur in a particular game?

    In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X.
    • Click on Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • On the left pane, click on View All.
    • Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

    Lag spike problem

    Please try these steps and check after each step. If these don't work, let me know. I will provide further troubleshooting steps.

    1. Windows Key+i > Privacy > Location > Make location service to OFF.

    2. Windows Key+X > Device Manager > View Show Hidden Device > Network Adapters > Right click on Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter > Disable

    Lag Spikes

    I'm not sure if this goes into gaming or networking but since it seems more network related Ill post it here.

    I have a Belkin usb wireless adapter I use with my gaming rig (see specs.) Lately when I am gaming online everything runs awesome. 60 or less ping no matter what. However about every few minutes I get a really bad lag spike. The game freezes completely for a second and as you well know a 5 second delay in a FPS firefight equals death. Its become quite annoying. Any suggestions other than running an ethernet cord across my house?
