Windows 10: Network LAN file sharing continually disables, how do I fix this?

Hi! Me and my brother have been experiencing issues with LAN performance, and I cannot seem to figure out the problem. We like to game, and recently we have not been able to join each other over our local network connection. I can list every option I've tried: disconnecting and reconnecting to the wifi, updating the wifi settings, changing firewall settings to allow local file sharing, and to allow the desired apps through the firewall, then enabling the local file sharing service to run, I've run the sequence of commands found in the tech support article, "Fix Wi-Fi connection issues in Windo

Unable to share files in my LAN

Hi all, I have two Windows 10 PC's in my home LAN (connected to same wired router). I would like to be able to transfer files between them. I have followed all steps in this guide and verified all requirements comply with it. When I open Windows Explorer and then click on Network in one PC I see the other PC listed, but when I double click on the PC I don't see any shared folder listed,not even the Public folder, instead I see the following error, any hint? Thanks

 

Illegal File-sharing Network eDonkey Disabled

The second largest file-sharing network on the internet has been severely disabled in a significant coup for the music industry's fight against piracy. Seven servers on the notorious eDonkey network, on which millions of users illegally share music and other files, were this week shut down following orders by German courts, the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI) said. The closure would knock out about third of eDonkey's 4 million users and cause "a major disruption" to one of the world's "top three file-sharing networks" the IFPI said in a statement. Similar injunctions have been issued against eDonkey-linked servers in France and the Netherlands.

W10 Sharing on LAN -- Need to REFRESH Network to access shares

I still think this must be a setting and so re-installing Win10 won't fix. Before you reinstall, I suggest that you create a new Workgroup and see if that works. (Choose Work in the Wizard, not home)
