Windows 10: Network load balancing

Hi

I had this experience recently on my friend's tower where I added a secondary NIC on it and Windows seamlessy used both of them with no config on my path. By used, I mean, start a download that would saturate the first link, and then, when starting another one, it would saturate the second link as well. Each link is connected to a different router on a different private network that eventually goes to the Internet. Even some apps, like Steam, which download on multiple connections, benefited from double the Internet speed. This all worked automatically.

Now, I tried to replicate this on my laptop, with the on board NIC and a USB one, and only one of the connection is saturated and the other never used. I can "hack" it by starting a download, then manually assigning a lower priority to the unused NIC than the priority of the NIC that is doing that download, and then doing a secondary download. This way, I will finally get Windows to "balance" the downloads, but this is cumbersome and stupid. Why does it do it automatically on one computer and on mine it is not working?

Recommendation: Load balancer for ADFS environment?

We want to put in ADFS for our current network to support about 30K authenticated users, currently to start off just for sharepoint application, but potentially will support other application/ users as well.

Looking for recommendation on whether we should go with virtual or hardware based Load Balancer, and
which vendor of LB that people tend to adopt for their ADFS and WAP servers? Imagine we'll need to get the LB that can support Layer 7

Here is how we are currently spec'ed out so far:

• 2 WAP servers (Win2016) sit behind a LB and all on DMZ
• 2 ADFS servers (Win2016) sit behind another LB and all on Internal network
• DC server is on Internal network as well

Can anyone explain how the traffic/federation process goes (step by step) when user access the website from the internet (please include how request is being passed/redirect between webserver, WAP, ADFS, and DC servers)

Network Load Balancing

Hi,

I have a query related to Network Load Balancing.

Here 's the scenario. So I am using NLB to create a cluster with virtual IP , lets say IP, which has two hosts. (IP1 and IP2).

so I hit the URL http://IP from multiple clients and it next connects to either one of IP1 and IP2.

Is there any tool that I could use to track the traffic and know exactly which IP is being hit? (IP1 or IP2)

Load Balancer Help

I'm not sure but I'd guess Cisco makes them, they make all kinds of network stuff. Doubt those come cheap though.

I know Windows 2003 has some load balancing feature, though I never used it. I guerss Linux has too, perhaps you could make a dedicated system to run as load balancer?
