Windows 10: Network not working

So today I was cleaning my closet and stumbled across a pc and monitor I haven't used since 2021 and I was curious to see if it will work so I tried it but wouldn't connect to the internet I also saw that there were a lot of updates needed. Unfortunately I couldn't update it because I didn't have internet. When I would log on and click the globe thing it will take me straight to network settings I didn't see airplane mode mobile data or wifi. So I went to network settings and saw other options but those that I listed. I watched some videos read articles on how to fix it. There was this one vid

Did our Epson printer get hacked?

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.

 

Computers Vanished From File Explorer But Network Still Works

I agree with @Try3. I have tried every suggested method to fix Windows networking suggested on these forums. All at best only worked for a short time. The only things that helped was:

1. Batch file I suggested in an earlier post
2. Creating shortcuts to computers on my home network

Note these two things are not fixes but workaround. However, at least they help and have never failed.

I have shortcuts set up for eight computers on my home network. I have created a folder on my desktop called My Network to hold the shortcuts. They have a mix of the following operating systems:

• Windows 10 - 4
• Windows 7 - 3
• Windows XP - 1

 

Domain network ethernet not working but wifi does?
