    Network Reset after W10 Updates!

I've posted this issue in the past (this has been a problem for years) but maybe there has been a better way to resolve developed since then? Every #$%ing time W10 does one of its Cumm Updates I have to go into each computer and "Reset Network" in order to get that computer to show up on my home network. Then if I forget to go into the Device Manager and set the Network Adapter so that it ignores requests to Wake the Sleep function becomes useless since every few minutes the system gets a "wake up" call. There has got to be a better solution. Too bad Microsoft can't fix the problem - must be some hidden issue I'm ignoring and the Windows Developers know better?

I must be one of the few that have a home network with multiple computers that uses file sharing across the network?! I would think that by now more people would be complaining. Anyway, is there a better way or do I have something setup wrong on my home network that causes this to happen? Frustrated.

    :)

Windows 10 Networking Issue: After Windows Reset I can connect to network but no internet

Thank you for the update. For us not to repeat the troubleshooting steps you've already performed, could you tell us the troubleshooting steps that you've already performed?

Also, we suggest trying to run the Network troubleshooter to help with your issue. To do that, follow the steps below:

    • Type Network troubleshooter in the Cortana search box.
    • Then select Identify and repair network problems.
    • Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if it fixes the problem.

Get back to us and give us an update.

    Network connection issue W10

I would do an OS refresh on that, it has been a loooong time (original release of Windows 10 in 2015) that I've seen a 10 upgrade bork LAN or WLAN. But I have seen it. Mostly with upgrades and not fresh installs though...but still seems like the same issue where for some reason 10 borks the network stack. Is this the newest release of 10 or an old one that you used? I believe the current official release is 1703 or newer. 1511 and older are no longer supported iirc, but should still install, function and update fine.

You could try resetting the network stack:

Try that and let us know if it helps. Can you test that LAN cable with another device? If it tests good, I wouldn't waste money buying another one. If it worked fine before and you haven't had a recent kink, pull, or sharp force on the cable or connector, odds are it is fine. Ethernet cables can take quite a bit of abuse.

W10 network reset - Anniverdary build

Swarfega, are you thinking that I start with netsh winsock reset and press Enter?

To me, following all the commands listed will do all the resets but to the best of my knowledge it won't 'uninstall' the network card.... but maybe I'm wrong??
