I'm getting quite frustrated with this issue since it takes 5 minutes to perform the network reset and it started like a month ago. What's odd is this only occurs when my desktop has been turned off for a bit, I am plugged into ethernet on a public network dorm. I've attempted several previously posted things: Updating Network adapter Realtek Family Controller latest from the website, I tried to flush the DNS, change the DNS to 8.8.8.8, disable windows updates for 7 days, ensuring it cannot be turned off by low power. Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
