Windows 10: Network Share Issue

Hi I posted here before about a network share issue I am having.


Here's the story so far


About two weeks ago I could share over my network via SMB,then that weekend there was an update to windows defender on saturday night,since then I haven't being able to share smb on any of my streaming devices.


I have windows 10 home edition update 1803 and I cannot share no matter how many steps I've taken.


I have posted problem this to the engineers as suggested but as of now I cannot share SMB and I've checked on powershell which SMB version I'm running ,it says SMB1 is disabled and SMB2 is enabled.


Things I've tried


Turned off and on network discovery

checked the shared folder in question and checked permissions - all is setup as it should be (folder is shared - ticked (share this folder) )

Edited host files - no effect

Ticked and unticked SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing support - no effect - even left this option on and restarted computer(still wouldn't share)


I've tried a lot of other things and nothing has worked (I don't want to post everything)

I can ping my devices over the network and they respond,the program in question is kodi on android on my tv.


I stream tv shows via SMB option from my computer(I've posted on the kodi support forum to no avail)


All was working fine until the update on saturday night (next day - Sunday) I got the following errors on kodi (cannot connect to network,share no available)


I've checked the pathway on kodi for the share and it is the same path I used in the first place which did share before the update.


Interestingly I can access the path on my computer using kodi(windows version) by that I mean I can load kodi on windows enter my computer name and shared folder in question and it accesses the folder in question.I just seems to be an issue try to access my shares from downstairs on my tv.


By the error it seems kodi(android)cannot access my network,I tried configuring my router and forwarding port 445 which I believe is a port used on SMB.I tried turning off windows firewall (defender) and anti virus,I adjusting inbound and outbound rules on the firewall(no effect)


Is it possible that the windows defender update did indeed affect my share ,because I'm out of options and I don't want to reinstall windows because it might not solve the problem.

Cannot open network and sharing center in windows 10

In order to understand the issue in a better manner, please share the following details

• 
  Do you get any error message, when trying to open network and sharing center?
  

I suggest you to follow the steps below to fix the issue.

Method 1: Install all the Windows 10 pending updates and check if it helps.

I suggest you check for the pending updates in resolving the issue.

• 
  In search type Check for updates and hit enter.
  
• 
  Click on Check for updates.
  
• 
  Windows 10 will automatically install all the pending updates.
  

If the issue still persist, suggest you to try the below step to fix the issue.

Method 2: I suggest you to
Run the DISM Tool and check.

The DISM tool checks the system health and will try to restore the files.

• Right click on the Start button, click on Command Prompt (Admin).
• In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press the
  Enter key after each command:
• DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

• 
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  

To close the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type
Exit, and then press Enter.

Wireless network issue

Right click start button(far left in task bar), go to Device manager, expand Network Adapters, right click Wi-Fi select Properties and find the version of your driver in Drivers tab.
