Network/wifi tile on my settings not showing up.

I don't have any option to connect to any network services. I've tried network reset, disabling and uninstalling my network adaptor on device manager. My network adaptor has a yellow triangle next to it and it says it has stopped working. I've tried everything that I've seen online, but none of them are working. I've had a similar problem happen to me in my school computer but the school IT department always fixed it for me cause it was a school laptop. Does anyone know how to fix this issue, please it's very urgent.

    :)

    Wifi Networks not showing

On my Laptop if I wanted to change the wifi connection I would always see a list of the available networks when I selected the Wifi icon on the task bar.
Since the last major update to Windows 10 I find that when I select the wifi icon I only see the current connection

To see other networks within range I have to open the 'Network settings' and choose 'Show available networks' - then they show up.

Does anyone have any explanation for this - or possibly a 'fix' to show them all from the taskbar again.

Network/wifi tile on my settings not showing up.

how do i reset the start menu in windows 10 to not show tiles?

A few days ago, my friends Win10 computer stopped showing his desktop and now only shows the tiles (he wants to see the default list of programs, not any tiles).

Clicking on the Windows key or "start menu" doesn't change anything. I stepped him through some online suggestions (including Settings/Start/Use-start-full-screen and making sure Settings/Table-mode was not engaged) but they don't work.

I've also compared his settings (Start/Use-start-full... and Table-mode) to my Win10 machine and they are the same.

    Assistance/suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks
