Hello, the past couple of days, I have been trying to network two older PC's, one a Dell Optiplex 9020, running Windows 10 Pro and an even older eMachines from 2005, still running XP to network up together. Previous attempts were a failure due to poor wireless connection, this goes way back to Vista when I still had that machine. The Vista machine met its fate in 2019, and in came a refurbed Dell Optiplex with Windows 10 and now with a new internet gateway and router, I can connect the two much more reliably now than before. So 2 days ago, began the process and got the SMB V1 setup on Windows 1

    :)

  2. Win 10 networking to an XP computer has changed

I read your other post and it seems you're wanting us to enable SSP / NTLM on the XP machine. Is this what you were suggesting?
    1. Click Administrative Tools.
    2. Click Local Security Policy > Local Policies > Security Options > Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level.
    3. Click Send LM& NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.
I'm not sure what SSP is? I saw references to SSO is that what you meant?

Network Computer not visible in local network folder

Long time lurker first time poster ... because usually I can find a solution to my problem by searching this forum.

I need some help, I have a Windows 10 network (all Enterprise 21H2), five computers named PC_1, PC_2 etc .... I can access shared folders on all five from any and all of them, sharing works without any issue and they all show up in the Network folder in explorer except on PC_3. It lists all 4 of the others, just not itself. I have searched this forum and used google to try to find a solution, but everything I find is for fixing sharing issues, which is not a problem.
    Any suggestions ... Thanks!

go into the change advance settings and delete the network cache in there..xp stores a list of available networks in there and if you delte the cache it has to rebuild it
