    Networking 3 Windows 10 machines

I am trying to network three Windows 10 computers; i.e.,
    • MomsLaptop - Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.720),
    • DadsDesktop - Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.720), and
    • DadsLaptop - Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.720).

FYI... Before posting this request for assistance, I successfully implemented Options One and Two in Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10.

Each computer has two user accounts. The name of the first user account is the same name as the computer and name of the second user account is Joe. (Both are administrators.)

When all three computers are signed in under their Joe user accounts, I can network all three computers successfully.

However, when each computer is signed in under its unique name; i.e., MomsLaptop, DadsDesktop, and DadsLaptop:
    • DadsDesktop can access the files shared by DadsLaptop, but cannot access the files shared by MomsLaptop,
    • DadsLaptop can access the files shared by DadsDesktop, but cannot access the files shared by MomsLaptop, and
    • MomsLaptop can access the files shared by DadsDesktop, but cannot access the files shared by DadsLaptop.

Comment: I would have expected the last bullet point to read, "MomsLaptop cannot access the files shared by DadsDesktop or DadsLaptop."

How do I begin to troubleshoot this, please?

    Thanks!

    :)

  2. Network Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 machines

I am trying to net work 2 computers, a Windows 8.1 machine and a Windows 10 machine. The network on the Windows 10 machine shows both machines, but the network on the 8.1 machines shows the Windows 10 as a media device.

    Suggestions?

  3. Can't write to shares on a Windows 10 machine from a Windows 7 machine

I still get "You need permission to perform this action" from the Windows 7 machines if I try to write to a Windows 10 share after I made the above changes on the Windows 10 machine.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
