  1. Never ever set up Authenticator, but authenticator is required, no login possible

I just signed up for one month trial of Windows365Everything worked well. I created a username *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and a password.I did NOT set up multifactor authentication and never ever registered any Authenticator App and no MS Authenticator. As of today when I try to login with Username and Password, Microsoft is asking me for confirmation with MS Authenticator. Since I never registered it, I can't generate one time codes and can't confirm a request sent to MS Authenticator which I never registered and do not have!I want to urgently cancel the free trial since the syste

  2. How to set a custom face recognition authentication software as second authentication after windows login?

To set up a custom face recognition authentication software as a second authentication method after Windows login, follow these steps:

    1. Install the Face Recognition Software:
      • Ensure the software is compatible with your Windows version.
      • Follow the installation instructions provided by the software developer.
    2. Configure Face Recognition Software:
      • Open the face recognition software and follow the setup wizard.
      • Register your face by following the on-screen instructions, ensuring it captures your facial features accurately.
    3. Set Up Windows Login:
      • Ensure you have a primary login method set up on your Windows account (password, PIN, or Windows Hello).
      • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and configure the primary authentication method if not already done.
    4. Configure Second Authentication Layer:
      • Open the face recognition software settings.
      • Look for an option to enable the software as a secondary authentication method. This might be under a section like "Security Settings" or "Advanced Settings."
      • Enable the option and follow any additional setup steps.
    5. Set Up Task Scheduler for Automatic Launch (if required):
      • Press Win + R, type taskschd.msc, and press Enter.
      • Click on Create Basic Task in the right panel.
      • Name the task and proceed with the wizard.
      • Set the trigger to At log on.
      • Set the action to Start a program and browse to the face recognition software executable.
      • Complete the task creation process.
    6. Test the Setup:
      • Log out of Windows and log back in using your primary authentication method.
      • Ensure the face recognition software prompts you for the second authentication.
    7. Adjust Security Settings:
      • If the face recognition software allows, adjust the security settings to meet your requirements, such as sensitivity levels and authentication thresholds.
By following these steps, you should be able to set up your custom face recognition software as a second authentication method after logging into Windows.

  3. Windows Microsoft account authentication

I have a valid Microsoft account and a Windows 10 PC with Hello/PIN account login enabled. I also have the Microsoft Authenticator app installed on an iPhone and configured for the Microsoft account. Additionally, I have two step authentication configured
for the Microsoft account. With all of that said, I have become very exasperated while trying to unravel the various authentication paths (and their security implications) through this multi level login security scheme. I find the associated account security
documentation to be woefully inadequate. Thus, I would like to pose the following list of questions for starters.

    1. Does Windows Hello/PIN amount to a two step verification login procedure for my Microsoft account?

    2. Does approving a Microsoft Authenticator login attempt (without two step verification explicitly set up)

amount to a two step verification login procedure for my Microsoft account?

    3. Does approving a Microsoft Authenticator login attempt (with two step verification explicitly set up)

amount to a two step verification login procedure for my Microsoft account?

    4. If answers to both 2 and 3 are yes, then what does explicit set up of two step authentication do?

    5. Does a coherent, comprehensive document explaining Microsoft account security configuration exist somewhere?

    6. If the answer to 5 is yes, wherer is it?

    Thanks in advance.

Never ever set up Authenticator, but authenticator is required, no login possible

    key authentication

Key authentication is the recommended method for security, reject all password logins

If you lose the key use physical or remote console (IPMI)
