Windows 10: New 1607 update deactivated my Office 2013

    Lost Product Key to Microsoft Office ....

    The newer versions of Office (365/2016/2013) don't require product keys for second time installation. When you install this first time and activate, the product key gets stored in digital format on Microsoft activation servers. For any subsequent downloads
    and activation, you need to login here and install and activate.

    No need of any product key only for 265/2016/2013. For versions below 2013, you will require product keys.

    You will have to first deactivate Office license which was installed on old computer otherwise it will be counted as a license. Hence, if you were allowed installation on one computer, you will not be able to activate on new computer. If your license was for
    say 5 computer as in case of Office 365 Home, now your validity will be for 4 computers.

    Hence, deactivate first and then install and activate.

    Windows 10 Does Not Update After Installing Office 365

    Thanks Vanessa,

    I went through all the steps and it did not help. For the last step, I updated to Windows 10 1607 version. Still the client computer shows that it is downloading updates and it is hanging there, never finishing the updates.

    I also notice that It was showing downloads of all the updates for Office 2013 although the Office was uninstalled before Office 365 was installed. I even declined all Office 2013 updates on WSUS server since we now use only office 365. Now the client shows to
    downloading updates for Windows 10 1607 only, but nevertheless, it does not finish the installation of the updates.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    New 1607 update deactivated my Office 2013

    It did this for Office 2016 too. Unkown reason. Just reactivate it.
