    New 20H2 Update Stuck on a Cycle


    Hi everyone!

    My windows 10 is supposed to be going out of service soon, so i decided to update windows 10 to the new 20H2. I started it around 7 last night, and it starts with 'getting things ready' then 'downloading' and finally 'installling'. Each of these go from 1 to 100% but when it finishes it starts over again with getting things ready and continues the cycle. It's now nearly 11 am and it is still doing this.

    I was just wondering if this is normal? It doesn't show any errors. How can i fix this if it's not normal?

    Task Switcher randomly gets stuck cycling windows


    Good morning!

    I am having an issue with the Task Switcher (see image below) activating on its own. It then begins to cycle through the open tasks very rapidly. When this happens I am unable to actually select any of the tasks, nor can I close them out. Windows is essentially frozen at this point and I have to restart.

    A few things to note:


    • I am running Windows 10 Pro.
    • This happens randomly, sometimes weeks between an incident.
    • Sometimes it happens while I am not even working at the computer. I've noticed it after returning to my desk.

    Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 3 year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

    20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?

    You may uninstall 20H2 using the steps below:

    "Can 1909 be updated with 20H2"

    Yes, I have had updates for 1909 and Windows Defender, also drivers etc.
    I did have an update for 2004 but never installed it, then it was replaced by 20H2 and I never installed that either.
    Then 20H2 was deleted and replaced by a step back note, which has been there some time and seems stuck -
