Windows 10: New Apps install by default to C:. How to change the default location for installing programs.

1. I change do D:. System->Storage->Where new content is saved didn't help2. D: driver is working. And i can install programs on it but only if installer allows you to choose where to put3 For example i try to install Google Chrome and it installed to C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe The installer did not allow me to select a disk for installation

Change the default installation location

I would like to change the default save location from SSD to HDD.Whenever i install a new software it is saved directly in my SSD i.e the C Drive ,since its only 128gb it would fill up pretty easily.Is there any way to change the save location to my HDD
??

 

Default App Install Location not installing in designated location

I've been having an issue to where my default location for apps to be installed is not being installed in the designated location. I've gone into the setting and changed the "location" to Drive E, then whenever I try to install Chrome, or even Spotify,
it still goes to Drive C

Normally this would be alright, but Drive C is a m.2 drive, made for just the OS, not for other apps. I've tried looking for a manual way to set default installation folder to E but have not had any luck. Is there a thread somewhere with the regedit information
to switch installation drives so I can utilize my raid drives?

 

Changing Default program in Win 10 home

If the default protocol that you wish to change is not available in the Settings app, you can use Control Panel to change the default programs in Windows 10.

Follow these steps:

• Press the Windows key + X to get the menu.
  
• Click the ‘Control Panel’ and then click on ‘Default Programs’.
  
• Click on the option saying ‘Set Your Default Programs’.
  

Control Panel will find the installed apps and programs and display the list. You will see the list of installed program in the left pane and the right pane will contain a description of program, along with options that let you set the program as default
for files/protocols it can handle

Select the program that you wish to set as default, and then click on ‘Set this Program as Default’. This will set the program as default for files and protocols it can handle.
