Windows 10: New Asus laptop, headphones don't work properly and make hissing sounds.

Speakers work properly. Prbbly already tried most of the suggestions you could find on the web - my Windows is up to date, drivers too, reinstalled them many times etc. Still doesn't work. Anyone?

No sound from headphone on Asus K50IJ


After installing Windows 10 on an Asus K50IJ laptop, there is sound from the speakers but no sound from the headphone.
Headphone is working on other computers, there seems to be no obvious reason for this, so drivers are OK, etc.
Can anyone suggest a solution other then buying an USB headphone or sound card?

2. How are you trying to connect the headphones to the laptop?
   
3. What is the model number of your ASUS laptop?
   
4. Are you using a wired or a wireless Bose headphone?

and try connecting your headphones to the laptop.

E63 hiss

As far as I can tell, the issue is not high quality compared to stock headphones. The issues is 16 ohm impedence (no hiss) compared to higher impedence (hiss). Normal headphones are usually at least 32 ohms and this leads to hiss.



My high quality 16 ohm Altec Lansing im716s sound good.



I had hoped that adding impedence in line would help, but Cobaltblue's experience suggests not.
