    New behaviour from Windows Update


    Greetings,I've noticed since 23/3/23 that Windows Update has begun to install Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus regularly. I use a third-party antivirus and in the past these updates would be disabled and not install, as they would not be required.Why are they installing now?Other users I have spoken to have also been receiving this new update behaviour.Is this a new Microsoft update policy?V. 22h2 OS b. 22621.1555

    Hi Aditya,

    Thank you for your reply. I have tried the two steps (turning of Hybrid sleep and Fast startup) you suggested but to no avail. Okay, for your two questions:

    1. My laptop is a HP Pavilion 14-bf101tx, and currently running Windows 10 1903 (upgrading from 1809).
    2. Nope. No error messages. I suppose the boot process was successful, however, my battery was reduced. That's why I suggest the post title as "Hibernating changes to sleep behaviour" because the battery level reduction looks like sleep behaviour.

    Please inform me of any diagnostics information you might need. Thank you for your kind assistance.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
