Would Build 10586 suffice for Lumia 550

I want to purchase a Lumia 550 mobile.

On my PC, the Windows 10 build is given as 10586.338 (Version 1511).

Would these combo work fine?

Would it allow me to send SMS from the PC using Cortana?

So as a Windows Insider, I can still opt to only receive stable builds? I'm not comfortable enough with Windows 10 to rebuild if something goes wrong with an unstable one.

EDIT: while I'm not an Insider, my build is 10586.420. Does this mean the Anniversary updates will actually roll me back to the 10586.338 build that Zachary is on, and allow the Game DVR to work correctly again?

From the look of the battery Icon I wonder if that means they didn't fix the problem with the power drain of the battery.

 

Surely Microsoft have to get the battery drain fixed soon. My last two phones have been Windows ones and the problem has got worse with the later ones. I like Windows phones but I'm beginning to feel a pull towards Android.

 

I gave feed back two times about the batter life. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

The're grayed out, logic move. X was fine anyway. But I guess it was opted for cleaner icons.
These changed along the way in previous builds / versions.
With X you got the notion of no no battery present, no sound at all due to audio driver failure or device disabled or muted.
Volume set to 0 was at some point also a speaker without x but not grayed out.

 

I hope not. Much prefer if they stick to the 2nd Tuesday of the month schedule - at least then we know when to expect it rather than MS just pushing updates down the pipe out of nowhere.

If the Anniversary Update is only a couple of months away then is there really any point to MS pushing updates until then. I'd rather they focused on making that perfect rather than waste time fiddling with a build they are soon going to forget all about.

 

You are missing the point....How else can there be a better way to perfect the O/S,....than millions of Insiders or users testing the product for any inconsistencies, in preparation for the Anniversary release.
If then all reports by scribes and press are favourable, it would encourage more people to upgrade to W10, which is the M$ objective.
