Windows 10: New Cannon printer drivers won't load to new dell .... keep getting error message

Less tha a week ago I got a Dell Laptop with Microsft Windows 10 and Webroot for security. Tried loading drivers for new Canon printer but keep getting" Error message" 'Drivers not loaded" Then in red under that it states "call Canon customer service xxxxxxxxxxx available 24/7" When I called the number I had to leave a messge so they could get back with me. Three ours latter a man called saying he was a Canon rep? ...... after talking me trough things he asked if he could have access to my and had me download Supremo. Now he goes to device settings I think There he showed me a file that was downloading adult films? Looked like every 2 to 4 hours and had loaded over 500+ ! Keep in mind this computer is barely a week old and hasn't been on the internet except to log unto the BestBuy site to check delivery status of other products

The customer service guy said it could be the modem sending corrupted info to the computer and then said something about a firewall for our private modem?

The entire thing felt strange!

Message from Canon pops up to call them 24/7 according to Canon's website they don't work 24/7 they work M-F not 7 days a week!?

Then he asks for contoll of my machine

Then he says he found a site that's continuously downloading adult content??? And said there werefirewalls for MODEMS ...... and he would help

Now I have that SUPREMO software on my computer and an alleged file which needs to come off if it's really there and/or he didn't plant it. The whole thing seems sketchy ! I hung up and turned off the computer.


Has anyone had this happen? Who do I go to for help?? I have know idea how to run the WEBROOT scan to find out if my computer is infected. And WEBROOT only takes email contact? . SMH! And even if a virus is there, how do I find out about firewalls for modems?

Can someone tell me who to contact to make sure my modem and computer and prevent other electronic devices from getting infected.

Can't share printer—getting error message

Step 1: Go to store.
Step 2: Buy a less shitty printer.
Step 3: Pick up some beer while you are there.
Step 4: Enjoy both your new printer and your beer.

In all seriousness, I have had more issues with Lexmark printers and their shitty drivers then any other manufacturer, HP is a close second though.

However, if you don't want to get a new printer*Laugh :laugh:, and I can understand that, when my Lexmark was giving me the same troubles in Win7(and Vista) I had to make sure the Windows firewall was ON and the firewall service was enabled and running. After I shared it I could re-disable the firewall and firewall services.

 

Can't share printer—getting error message

Not working... I see the printer, but when I go to add it, I get this messge: "Windows could not connect to the printer (error 0x0000000d)."

I installed the 32-bit drivers for it and printed something out from the pc the printer is connected to, and I went to the additional drivers page and added drivers for 64-bit, and when I went to add the printer on the other machine, it copied drivers over, but after that I got the error message listed above...

Yeah, I have windows firewall disabled, and I don't use any other firewall... mostly to prevent stupid issues like this.
