    New computer stuck on .wlmp


    A video of my late grandfather was made on my old computer. I show this .wlmp file on this computer and have attempted several ways to access this on my new Windows 10 and can't. Someone please help me

    Ah, now I get it! You have a Windows Live Movie project that has sentimental value to you. Sorry for not figuring that out earlier.

    Windows Live Movie is long gone, but that's not the worst news. This is the worst news: A .wlmp file doesn't contain the actual content - the movie itself - it only has links to the content, as well as any transitions, images, music and special effects,
    if any, that you included with your project.

    You might need to import the file into Windows Live Movie Maker following these steps:

    1) Launch Windows Live Movie Maker;

    2) Click File -> Open Project to import the .wlmp project file;

    3) Click File -> Save Movie -> For Computer to save the Windows Live Movie Maker project file as WMV format.

    If that doesn't work, you might need to go back to the original PC and save it as a different format
