Windows 10: new computer with activated windows key

just bought a new computer from acer sealed and everything. After about 15 minutes later the activate windows icon starts at the right bottom off my computer. I find the windows key with powershell "Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService'.OA3xOriginalProductKey". where I find the key. I change the key then I get the error code 0xC004C008 saying the activation key has already been used. I tried activating by phone but that didn't work.

Transferring a Windows 10 Product Key to a new computer

You cannot use OEM key to activate other devices. But I have seen cases where in it will activate.

You will have to follow below steps to activate on new device:

Open cmd as admin (on new computer)

Slmgr -upk (enter)

Slmgr -cpky

Slmgr -rilc

Slmgr -ipk XXXXX-XXXX-..... (your pk key)

Slmgr -ato

This should activate on new device. Before purchasing a key I'll suggest you try above steps because I have done in the past and it had worked.

 

windows 8 activation key

You can use a Windows key as many time as you want provided it's only on one computer at a time. If the automated activation fails, just call the number it provides. Six minutes later, you're activated again. If it asks you how many computers it's on, just say "one" and you're golden.

 

Windows 8.1 pro + WMC key activation

yeah, just don't forget that MCE gives you a new Windows key.... I had activation errors untill I entered the MCE key....
