Windows 10: New computer with Windows 10 installed won't play or recognize music CDs

I recently bought a new Acer desktop computer with Windows 10 installed. When I attempt to play a music CD, Media Player will neither play the CD nor apparently even recognize that a CD has been inserted. I've read some other comments here about this issue but I've yet to find one that clearly states what the solution might be. Would someone please help?

Windows 10 won't play, rip, or recognize any audio cd's

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and now when I put a cd in the drive it won't play them or even recognize that there's a cd in the drive. Windows Media Player would always play the cd and I would use that program to rip music. Even File Explorer doesn't
even list or recognize that there is a cd in the drive. I have new cd's that I want to rip into my computer and I cannot and it's really starting to frustrate me. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have a solution or have a suggestion on how to
fix this issue?

• Are you using a specific application when playing a music/watching videos?
• Does this happen when only using the specific application or with other application also?
• Could you tell us the troubleshooting steps you've done so far?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using?

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
