Windows 10: New Dell laptop will not map network drive

First time here and looking for some help. I just bought a Dell Inspiron 3100 series laptop and everything works fine except that it will not map a shared network drive (Readyshare drive on Netgear router). I get an error message that says I don't have "administrative permissions". I am the administrator and the only account on the laptop. We have 8 other computers in the house that regularly use than shared drive with no issues. I emailed Dell and the said that, "yes its' under warranty but there will be a charge for this service". DON'T THINK SO!!*Mad
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

keep asking for smart card

I am using a Dell Latitued E6420 laptop with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro 10.0.10240 and login to the OS with my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account with administrative privileges.

Each time I try and access a existing mapped network drive Windows 10 will always ask "connect a smart card" even though I mapped it and was able to access the mapped drive just using the network credentials.

 

Connecting New Windows 10 Laptop to Windows 7 Running on a Mac via VMware Fusion

I have a new laptop with Windows 10 that I am trying to a Mac running Windows 7 via VMware Fusion. A mapped network drive had previously been established between the old laptop and the Mac. When I booted up the Windows 10 is recognized the other computers
and printers on the network. It even recognizes the mapped drive, but I receive an error message when I try to connect to the mapped drive:

Windows cannot access . . . You do not have permission.

The Mac does recognize the new laptop.

Do I need to have the new laptop join the HomeGroup to have access to the mapped drive? We do not currently share any information via Libraries.
