Windows 10: new dell windows 10 computer no detect of printer and admin blockage on printer software...

problems:


1.weeks old windows 10 laptop will not detect printer yes its compatible with win10 and yes everything is on and blinking blue etc.... worked fine on old computer win10 no problems at all


2. cant load printer software SiSetup.exe i get the admin warning, even though i am the damn admin.

"an administrator has blocked you from running this app." red and white window.


under Bluetooth and other devices i see the printer. i go into printer set up and i see it there also but cant click to make it my default all i can do is remove it. clicking it does nothing at all.


i've spent all day looking and trying all the different ways to get this simple printer to work to no avail. even HP smart software doesnt detect the printer. i tried the extractible instructions, but the "temp" folder doesnt have any folder that starts with 7z as everyone says it will be there it aint on my %temp% folder?

Printer wont install

If windows doesn't pop up with the detected new hardware prompt, then the printer is probably DOA.

I know this sounds stupid, but is the printer on? I only ask because I know on the 5300 I had, when I plugged the printer in, the LCD would turn on, but I still had to press the little power button to truly turn it on and get it to work with the computer.

 

Printer not detected

Like other inputs - my new windows 10 computer does not detect my printer. Like others, I have tried all your recommendations a dozen times and the computer does not detect the printer. It seems your replies are computer generated and just repeats the
meaningless suggestions. The same problem happened when Windows 7 first came out and a great many printers were not recognized. Updating to Windows 10 seemed to fix that problem. Now with a new and full install with Windows 10, the problem of recognizing
printers is back. This is not a problem with my computer nor the hundreds of computers which are sending in their complaint. THIS IS A WINDOWS 10 PROBLEM. please fix it.

 

Windows 10 Home Won't Print to Remote Printer


I have three computers.
Machine 1: Windows 10 pro, has the USB Brother HL-5040 printer
Machine 2: Windows 10 pro, prints OK to the remote printer.
Machine 3: Windows 10 home, Used to print, but not anymore (THIS IS THE PROBLEM).
I’ve tried everything that I can think of, and would appreciate any suggestions.
I did these steps on Machine 3 that did not work.

1. Remove the printer device.
2. Add a Printer
3. The printer that I want isn’t listed
4. Select a shared printer by name
5. Browse
6. Select the displayed Machine 1.
7. Select the displayed Printer.
8. Next
9. Failure “Connect to Printer”.
10. Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or Hostname
11. Next
12. Set Hostname to Machine 2, and set port name.
13. Detecting TCP/IP Port
14. Additional Port information required.
15. Device Type – Standard, Brother Port Server
16. Next
17. Detecting the Driver Model
18. Install The Print Driver
19. Select Brother and Brother HL-5040
20. Next
21. Replace the Current Driver
22. Printer Name (setting it to HL-5040)
23. Next
24. Do not share this printer
25. Next
26. You’ve successfully added “HL-5040”
27. Finish

Printing on Machine 3 puts the document in the print queue, which reports error printing.
Printing from Machine 2 to the printer on Machine 1 works perfectly.
All three machines are in the same HomeGroup. Machine 3 can access the shared files from Machine 1.
