Windows 10: New desktop and can't sign in to the windows account

Purchased new desktop, there is a new ssd, but it's empty, upon installing windows and trying to log into the windows account it says the password is incorrect, even though it should be correct, it works, when logging in to a different device, the admin pc. The windows account is still installed on a different device, but it will not be used anymore, would that be of cause to not work on the new PC? There should be 5 pc's available to work with this account, because of the subscription, there are currently 3 in use.

• Is this the only account on the computer?
• Was this account upgraded from previous version of Windows?

It looks like you are using a local account. I suggest you follow these steps:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Microsoft account instead.
• Enter your Local account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the new Microsoft account and click OK.

The error code that your are getting when adding an account is usually caused by the following:

• Your phone has an incorrect date and time set.
• You do not have a data connection.
• Your phone is in a "bad state."

Desktop appears from different signed-in account


I noticed after a Windows 10 repair install that the desktop that appears isn't the desktop from the user account with which I'm signed in. In fact, that user account is no longer listed in user accounts, but its files still appear in C:\[my computer name]\Users. How do I get the correct desktop to appear?
