Windows 10: New desktop icons displace existing icons

I have my desktop icons arranged with the Recycle Bin at top left, and a few important apps and folders arranged below it.Sometimes, when a new desktop file is created i.e. SaveAs from an application, Windows displaces my icons and inserts the new icon just below RecycleBin. In other cases, such as manually creating a new folder, Windows places the icon away from the existing icons. I can't determine any logic to where it creates the icon, sometimes it's in the middle of the screen, other times at the bottom left under my existing icons.Is there a way to prevent Windows from moving my exis

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

the icons are located in 'all users' folder somewhere (for example, i see a few shared icons in "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" )

The only way to fix those, is to remove the icons from there, and place them on to each users desktops manually. an admin may need to do this.

 

Displacement of Desktop Icons

After some 4-5 days of disarranged Icon per boot,

I suddenly now get no Icon displacement at all....I assume that this my be due to the startup commands being executed in a different order where one of thoe programmes may have caused
the problem...This is a pure hypothosis .. I have no data.

I will keep a close eye on that and inform you all what happens.

What I do not believe is a selfrepair in Win 10 ;-)

But I did download the Icon save/restore programme just in case...thanks forthatsuggestion.
