Windows 10: New Driver Shiproom measures for Firmware in Windows 10 Win Update

With the roll-out of 19H1 and the 8B patch on RS4 and RS5, we now have more ESRT telemetry available to better evaluate the health of firmware. We have developed eight new measures that utilize this new telemetry to help ensure the quality of firmware going into the ecosystem (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...mware-measures).

Percent of machines reporting successful firmware installs (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/dashboard/esrt-pct-machines-reporting-succ...) will provide an indicator if there are install issues with the submitted firmware.

Percent of machines that exceed max retry (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/dashboard/esrt-pct-machines-exceed-max-ret...) counts the devices that have tried to install the firmware and have reached the maximum retry count of 3 times.

Percent of machines with WHEA error after firmware install (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...nes-whea-error) counts the devices that have reported a fatal WHEA event after firmware install.

Percent of machines with Abnormal Shutdowns (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...t-machines-abs) counts the devices that abnormally shutdown for reasons excluding bugcheck (which automatically triggers an ABS) or ungraceful power button shutdown within 3 days of install, and did not abnormally shutdown 3 days before install.

Percent of machines with no heartbeat within 7 days (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...brick-detector) counts the number of machines that successfully installed the firmware and has not heartbeat (reported any telemetry) in the 7 days following.

Percent of machines with no heartbeat within 14 days (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...brick-detector) counts the number of machines that successfully installed the firmware and has not heartbeat (reported any telemetry) in the 14 days following.

Percent of machines with pending firmware updates due to Bitlocker risk (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/dashboard/esrt-pct-machines-blocked-bitloc...) counts the machines that are pending the firmware update due to the risk of entering bitlocker recovery post install.

Percent of machines updated and successfully unlocked bitlocker recovery (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/dashboard/esrt-pct-machines-entered-bitloc...) counts the machines that installed firmware and entered bitlocker recovery causing the customer to recover by entering the bitlocker recovery key.

These measures are currently being evaluated and will be used to make accept/reject decisions starting December 12th 2019.

If your firmware fails one of these measures, please work with your IHV to get a fix for the crash in question.

The Ultimate Realtek HD Audio Driver Mod for Windows 10

Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.

Windows 10 nVidia Driver Question

With the Nov Update, Windows 10 became mature enough to give another try. Build 10586 (version 1511) runs great, feels snappy, and has no obvious problems. However, I'm concerned with this version's insistence on loading nVidia's 353.54 driver, which is dated July 13 2015, 4 months ago. On their US website they list all the new drivers as being compatible with Windows 10, (such as 358.91), but they won't load (installer says incompatible with this version of Windows, could find no compatible hardware...). The 353.54 driver runs games without any problems, but why is it taking so long to for nVidia to update this driver? Is it my 780 Ti that's incompatible or is it Windows 10?

It's a weird software problem I guess. Try GeForce Experience to upgrade it, maybe it works. I have a 780 Ti too and have the newest driver in Win 8.1, installed via GF Experience.

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

Wait, but have you done the whole step-by-step guide described in the OP? DDL/DTS isn't supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 either, unless if you do the steps listed there.

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
