Windows 10: New Email Notification sound changed but not working

In Windows 10, I've gone into the Settings panel > Sounds > New Email Notification section and changed the default sound to a custom sound file. The sound file works fine when you test it after uploading it. But, all new emails continue to play the old, default sound file.


Am I missing something or is this just broken?

Thank you for your response. You may consider the following suggested troubleshooting steps to resolve your concern:

* If you are using the combined email functionality that is originally with the phone, change it to simply use "Outlook Mail" and get rid of the "All Emails" from both the start screen, the notifications list and the lock screen.

* Set the ringer volume always on 8 or 9 and do not go to level 10.

Windows 10 Mobile new Email Notification Sound Not Working - Again

Thanks for the advice. Followed your instructions and those of Marcel Dio but unfortunately neither have resolved my problem to date but then I found my Outlook.com email account suddenly started to sound notifications again after I had unlinked my accounts!
So I had an idea.

I deleted my second email account entirely. Soft reset the phone. Added the second email account back in again and set up sounds etc. for it. Noticed it no longer relies on Outlook Calendar but now relies on Outlook Mail for grouping and notifications and
it is no longer listed separately in the app sounds list. Anyway re-linked the two accounts, mirrored their notification settings and voila! sound notifications are back again.

 

Email notifications problem

Hello all!
After 3 years i opened my very very old email and saw all techpowerup notifications in there.
After deleting all notifications, i wanted to unsubscribe from receiving email, but the problem was that after unsubscribing, i still received emails! I dont want to unsubscribe from the threads in this forums, i just dont want to receive emails.
How can i remove email notifications?

I changed this and nothing changed at all
