Windows 10: New external drive seagate seen by 'safely remove..' but not file explorer.

Hi,Would be most appreciative if someone could tell me WIGO here.As you can see it is recognised in 'safely remove bottom right, but not listed in windows explorer.I dont know where to start troubleshooting in this instance.Secondly a generic question. Do all usb 3.0 hubs need to be powered as well as the link to a usb3 port?I have one that seems to saying yes...but when connected, makes little difference.Appreciate any guidance.regards

Cannot find (Seagate) external hard drive in File Explorer.

To understand the issue better, please provide us more information.

1. I would recommend you to check in Disk management, if the (Seagate) external hard drive is detecting in Disk management. Follow the below steps:

a. Press Windows Key + R and type diskmgmt.msc and hit
Enter.

b. Check if the system is detecting (Seagate) external hard drive and let us know.

2. What exactly happen when you try to access on the hard drive? Do you receive any error message/error code?

To make the change from One Touch to Tool Kit, you would need to reformat the Seagate external hard drive. This will erase all data on the drive, so make sure to back up any important files before proceeding.

Here are the steps to reformat the Seagate external hard drive:

> Open File Explorer and locate the Seagate external hard drive.

> Right-click on the Seagate drive and select "Format".

> In the "Format" window, select "NTFS" as the file system and give the drive a new name, such as "Tool Kit".

> Click "Start" to begin the formatting process.

Once the drive has been reformatted as Tool Kit, you can set up File History to recognize the new drive. To do this, follow these steps:

> Open the Start menu and search for "File History".

> Click on "File History settings".

> Click on "Add a drive" and select the Tool Kit drive.

> Turn on the toggle switch to enable File History backup.

Once you have completed these steps, File History should recognize the Tool Kit drive and you should be able to safely eject the drive using the "Eject" option in the File Explorer.

External drives are duplicated in File Explorer on Windows 11.

Pls try the steps (or the registry fix remove-duplicate-drives.reg to automate the task) to resolve the issue.
