New F: drive named System Reserved?

So I was messing around with the BIOS and I was trying to convert from legacy to UEFI and in doing so I ran `mbr2gpt.exe /convert /allowfullOS` which did work but apparently I'm still booting in legacy mode and I don't know how to undo it I've rebooted my computer and now I got a new F: drive called System Reserved and I do not know whether I should keep it or delete it. My E: drive is now Primary Partition for some reason even though there are no windows related things on it it's just a old HDD to store random files.

    :)

  2. New "top level" drive folders replicating drive names on non-system drives

My computer has a couple of extra NTFS drives - one is a SSD, one is a HDD.

They are listed as drives F: and G:

(My system drive is C:, no drive D:, and drive E: is a system-restore reserved drive).

I noticed that drives F: and G: now have new top-level folders that replicate the drive name.

For example - Drive F: is named "Nova"

Previously the top-level folders on Nova were "Games", "OldApps", and "Mods"

So a valid path for example would be F:\Games\<game folder name>

Now however there is a new top-level folder on F: also named Nova.

So the new path for the same location is F:\Nova\Games\<game folder name>

This just occurred within the last day or two and I did "update and restart" around the same time.

Was there a change to file explorer that would cause it to introduce new top level folder names that replicate the drive names? Is there any other known cause?

"Windows 10 couldn't be installed - we could update the system reserved partition"

I think you mean "could not update", not "could".

    Suggestions:

    • Disconnect any other hard drives.
    • Run chkdsk /f on the System Reserved partition. You'll have to do this from the CMD prompt in Repair Mode.
    • Initially there were reports of some System Reserved partitions being too small for the upgrade. Search for details if the first two suggestions fail.

    Hello Kathy,

Based on the information you have provided in your post; we need to do further investigation. To assist you better, we'd like to know the following:

    • Have you tried using a third party software to manage the disk partition?
    • Did you format the drive?

We suggest that you check for the drive in the Disk Management and look if it appears. Follow these steps:

    • Log on as administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
    • Press Windows+R key and type diskmgmt.msc and then click OK.
Look if the Drive F: appears and check if it is unallocated.

    Looking forward to your update.
