Windows 10: New folder option not working

Discus and support New folder option not working in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; Tried various online solutions and turning off MacAfee antivirus to allow me to create a new folder in This Pc location, there are 7 folders already...     New folder option not working


    Tried various online solutions and turning off MacAfee antivirus to allow me to create a new folder in This Pc location, there are 7 folders already created is there a limit? I have another pc, desktop, its the same. Both computers are upto date.

    Thanks, the step you mentioned

    Click on the desktop.
    • Press CTRL + SHIFT + N.
    • A new folder should be created.
    • Creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut.

    It's working for me. But my new folder option is not working anywhere not in desktop as well as not in file explorer. Whenever I am placing my cursor on new folder option, its first spinning for few seconds then goes to close the file
    explorer and refresh the desktop once.

    Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

    Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.


    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
    That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

    Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

    New folder option not working

    View>list folder option doesn't stick to all folders


    In a folder, when I do View>list and then in Options apply that to all folders, it often doesn't stick, i.e some sub folders under that folder show the details view. Any suggestions?

    In fact it looks like all new folders are defaulting to details view.
