Windows 10: New GPU not recognized, old one still on list? Win10

I installed a new/replacement GPU but Windows seems to install the driver for the old hardware.


The old driver and apps have been uninstalled but is there another place to look for leftover bits? Even after downloading the correct Win10/64 driver from the ASUS site it still says it isn't working. I also tried letting Windows search for the driver but that is where I saw the wrong GPU listed.


How can I troubleshoot in case there is a hardware problem?

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Unable to get Win10 to recognize EPSON 4870 Photo Scanner

I'll walk you though the steps I do to install my Perfection 1200. I have to do this periodically for some reason to reestablish the 'non-standard' Perfection 2400 driver.

1. Right click on the scanner in Device Manager (as Admin) and select Update Driver. Then select the option to browse my computer for driver software.



2. Then select Let me pick from a list of device drivers....



3. Select Imaging Devices from the next list.



4. Finally, select the correct Epson driver you have installed then click Next. If it isn't listed then something has gone wrong with the driver installation.



5. Hopefully, the scanner should now work?
