Windows 10: New head phones w/mic plugged in and computer says not plugged in win 10

I have been at this,attempting to install and use a new set of headphones w/mic and it isn't working. Computer says that this particular plug in isn't plugged in. I have one plug in for my head phones. I have been trying to get this right for a few days now. I went onto you tube and saw one video from someone who had the very same issue and solved this by using realtek audio console.. I would have to differentiate between a set of headphones or a set of headphones with a mic. I don't have the console and I can't seem to find it anywhere. My headset mic says it is not plugged in

So a couple of days ago I got noticed my computer was using my webcam mic and not my headset mic, which I thought was strange because it usually defaults to the headset. I checked sound settings and it says that my mic is not plugged in, it even specifies the headphone jack it needs to be plugged, but it is plugged in. The audio works but the mic is not recognized by my computer and I have tried various things to fix it and no luck, and its getting really annoying. How can I fix this problem? I am using Windows 11 with the latest update. I know its not the headset because I tested it on my PS4 and my other laptop and it works perfectly, so I think its my computers fault.

I'm Mohammed Shuaib, an Independent Advisor & I understand from the description that Mic is not working even though it says its plugged in, please follow the below steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Step 1:

Go to search box next to Windows icon and Type Troubleshoot

Step 2:

Under Find and Fix other problems select Speech

Step 3:

Click on Run the Troubleshooter

Mic not plugged in when it is plugged in

For a good while now maybe since November 2021 my headset mic hasn't been working and when i check Sound in control panel it says my mic isn't plugged in however it is and I've tried troubleshooting but it still says its not plugged in I've also tried looking at youtube videos but none of them helped and im not sure how to reinstall the Microphone driver as it doesnt show up when i expand audio inputs and outputs on device manager. This problem was happening when i had Windows 10 and hasn't been fixed when i updated to Windows 11.
