Windows 10: New 'identical' computer is extremely slow in starting up!! Improper transfer of old HD's??

Greetings,I have purchased a 'new' refurb computer HP elite Desk 800 Mid tower replacing my identical old computer, which met its demise in an ugly power surge.This is my 'home', work related computer which I use 3-4x/week.I also have one at my office, an HP EliteDesk 705 which works flawlessly.The new computer came with an SSD, and came with the same Win10 Pro as I had previously, worked without issue right out of the box.I took both the SSD and the regular spinning HD, from the old computer and installed them into the 'new' computer, without issue. Both drives can be read and I can access

Extremely slow file transfer from computer to external HDD

I am almost sure it has to do with Malwarebytes real time protection which I recently installed, and I am not a complainer but this is almost ridiculous.

Transferring old Hard Drive to New Computer?

I just bought a new computer, and was wondering if I could simply transfer my old hard drive to the new PC. FYI, my old computer was a Dell Dimension 8300, Windows XP, with an 80GB HD. My new computer is a custom Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition, Vista Home Premium 64, with a 1TB HD. Basically:

(1) If I physically remove the old Dell HD and put it in the new computer, will I be able to access my files?

(2) Will I be able to boot from the Windows XP operating system installed on the old HD? (And not compromise my ability to alternatively boot from Vista 64 on the new HD)?

(3) Can I copy the contents of the old HD to an external HD and achieve the result in #2?

Any advice would be appreciated!

 

Inkscape extremely slow on new, powerful computer

Last week I bought an ASUS ultrabook laptop:

• i7 6500U processor;
  
• 256 GB SSD hard drive;
  
• 8GB RAM memory;
  
• Intel HD Graphics 5500 video card.
  

I was told this laptop should be extraordinary fast. However, working in Inkscape on Windows 10, it is extremely slow.

Is it the hardware, or might there be some other reason for Inkscape being this slow?
