New Install of W10 Pro on new SSD - USB Mouse will not stay powered on

I have just installed W10 Pro on a brand new SSD.
But after switching back to my other SSD with W10 on it I now find that on the new install the mouse pointer is nowhere to be found. I can remember setting the mouse options to show the cursor by pressing Control, but that does not help either.
The light on the mouse will light up for a very short time, and then die, if I restart.
Even when the mouse light is on, the cursor is nowhere to be seen.
I see that I have a notice below this input box to advise me to give my W10 version number.
I don't have that, but it is the latest ISO downloaded from Microsoft. It's the November 2019 version.

    :)

  2. Installing W10 on a new SSD

Probably been asked a trillion times but I cannot find a straight forward answer.

I am soon to be changing my HDD for an SSD in my 6 month old Lenovo laptop, it came with W10 HOME pre installed with a partition for the drivers on the HDD.

If I put a new SSD in the laptop and then install W10 HOME will it automatically activate or will I have to buy a new licence as there is no key to activate on the underside of the laptop.

  3. Migrating W10 from SSD to USB and then to new SSD

    _________________________________________________________________

    Your Welcome Tony,

Please post back and let us all know how everything went. Also I did check, and yes they do make a cable adapter to plug into your USB port and then plug the other end into your new SSD M.2 drive at a reasonable cost. This way you can do it in one
attempt. Simply plug new drive into your USB then do your Disk clone to the USB, Power down and remove and replace with new drive. And Always make sure you have a
working disk copy backup/system image to a external drive Before you attempt any of these operations.

    Good Luck...

  4. New Install of W10 Pro on new SSD - USB Mouse will not stay powered on

Migrating W10 from SSD to USB and then to new SSD

    Hi

Some months ago, I bought a new Custom-built PC with a 128G M2 SSD, where Windows lives. Over the months, this SSD has become too full with Program Installs to allow for Windows updates (where it needs to make another copy...). So I have bought a new Samsung
500G M2 SSD, and I'm now trying to migrate the Windows install across to that, while keeping all my program data intact (so, cloning the old SSD...). The Samsung Migration Magician will not copy the Windows install to USB, and my motherboard only has one M2
    slot.

Is there a way to clone my old SSD to USB, then back to the new SSD once in place on the motherboard? Or, failing that, is an SSD adaptor a good idea, so that I can run the two M2 SSDs together, and use the Magician to clone the old SSD to the new, then
    boot Windows from that?

    TIA for any advice...
