Windows 10: new internet service with free router, am 1 of 25 networks on ethernet, computer possessed,,,,,

recently got Frontier "wireless" internet with an Eero router by amazon free to use. Now my pc is freezing, curser disappears and running apps I don't recognize. Turns out only thing wireless is from router to my devices I am one of several dozen "networks" on one ethernet ? Cant access basic apps either. Yet when i use another secured network, there's no problems.....help>

I worked all this out for a Win7-WinXP direct ethernet computer-to-computer network and later amended it for a Win7-Win7 network. A step-by-step procedure for creating a two-computer Ethernet cable network - MSAForum You can use a crossover cable but do not have to. Doing this in Windows 10 is just about the same as doing it in Windows 7 but some diagrams look different & you have to look around for the equivalent settings in some cases. But I suggest you do yourself a favour and get a router so that it does all the hard work for you. Best of luck, Denis

When you set up a PC, a HomeGroup is created automatically. If a HomeGroup already exists on your home network, you can join it.

You mentioned that both the computes are in different networks. This could be the reason why you are unable to create the homegroup. Therefore, I would suggest you to first try to add both the PC to a single network and try creating the homegroup again.

Refer the steps given below to add a device or PC to a network and check if it helps.

-Plug the PC into a hub, switch, or router and then turn it on. (If your home has Ethernet wiring and you have a jack in the room where the PC is, you can plug the PC into the Ethernet jack instead.)

To make sure you added the PC, follow these steps:

  Sign in to any PC on the network.
  
• 
  Press Windows key + E to open file explorer and click "network".
  
• 
  Make sure you see icons for the PC you added and for the other PCs and devices that are part of the network.

this hard drive is not connected to my computer, it is connected to my wireless router.

after scanning for hardware changes as you suggested in step one, there is no usb hard drive
listed on my computer, either in the device manager, or in the network list in file manager which includes both computers connected to the router. this computer is recognizing the router, internet, and other computers connected to the router.
it is not recognizing the hard drive connected tot he wireless router.

I checked my wireless router to see if the usb hard drive is discoverable and verified that it is.
