  1. New laptop and microsoft 365

I hope somebody can help as I am very confused. I recently bought a new ACER laptop and moved all my files across from the old laptop. Every time I open something word, excel, etc I am told I am using an unlicensed product and I need to buy Microsoft 365. I'm not sure why I can't use Windows as I always have in the past. In fact, I thought my laptop updated me to Windows 11. Alot of my files have stopped allowing me to make changes to them. So when I thought I should buy 365 my old credit card has expired and it wants me to update to a new one. BUT when I go to update/change, the box is gr

Need to Install 365 on New Laptop

Recently I had to buy a new laptop (Windows 10, same as before). I’m a Microsoft 365 subscriber and had the programs on my old laptop. I had my technician pull the old hard drive (containing not only data but programs as well) from my old laptop.

To reload the 365 Office software / programs to my new laptop, can I just copy and paste the 365 office software programs (and then reload the .exe for each one) from the old hard drive to the new laptop, or do I need to go to the Microsoft 365 site to reload the software?

Thanks for any suggestions about the best / easiest way to reinstall yet on my new laptop.

  3. Disable new search bar in Outlook 365

OK. There is a way to disable this new search box in Microsoft Office 365. For Outlook:

    1. Open Outlook 365.
    2. On the lower left-hand corner click options.
    3. In the User Interface options under the General Tab, click the checkbox Collapse the Microsoft Search box by default.
    4. Click OK.

The search box will now disappear. However, disabling this option would only work on that application. If you open Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you will need to do these same steps to disable the search box (if present) as well. Let me know if this works for you.
