Windows 10: New laptop, can't make pin. Windows 11

I just bought a laptop today and when setting up, I had difficulties when it came to setting up the pin. It would repeatedly say "Oops.. Something went wrong." and allowed me to try again. What can I do to alleviate this?

Windows 11 Safe Mode PIN Failure

I've a new Asus ProArt Studiobook and need to put the laptop into SafeMode to fix Windows Defender issue (thread here if of interest). I'm running the latest version of Windows 11 (23H2). I was attempting to boot into safe mode. At the login screen, I receive the following error "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again."

Troubleshooting steps so far

1. I've repeated this with the laptop LAN connected, WiFi connected, Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Network. still unable to login to my laptop via safe mode.
   
2. I've also reinstalled Windows 11 using this guide, following the Reinstall Windows 11 using installation media Keep Everything steps... I didn't fancy reinstalling all my apps. still unable to login to my laptop via safe mode.
   

Other than sending my laptop back under RMA or do a fresh rebuild, I'm out of options. Any ideas?

In trying to resolve an 0x80070103 error on a new HP laptop, I'm now locked out of the device at start-up. The message: Something happened and your pin isn't available. Click to set up your new PIN. <setup my pin>. I followed the instructions as outlined in another post:

I suspect that the issue stems from disabling Edge (the instructions did not advise to bypass disabling t Edge). Is there a repair file that I can load onto a flash drive, or something? Any and all suggestions on this issue would be helpful.

 

Windows 11 needs PIN - lost PIN & Password - Help!

To reset a forgotten PIN code, please complete these steps: (Require your phone number.)

Step 1: On the Windows 11 login screen, click “I forgot my PIN” under the PIN password box.

Step 2: Enter your user account password and then click “Sign in”.

Step 3: you need to verify your identity, choose a way to receive code and continue.

Step 4: If you choose your phone number, enter the last 4 digits of the phone number. Then click “Send code”.

Step 5: You will receive a code in seconds. Type in your received code and then click “Verify”.

Step 6: Select “Continue”.

Step 7: Type in a new PIN and type it again to confirm. Then click “OK”. The new PIN password is working now.
