    Hi,Just setting up a new laptop, and went through the motions of adding my company Microsoft account as the admin user from initial first boot. Silly mistake…. It is linked to an Azure AD from my company’s I’m the sole director Office 365 subscription.I can see my NAS and other machines populate network devices in file explorer, however when I try and access them, I cannot.I’m trying to access these devices as “local network” devices as the others I do not need to be attached to my company Microsoft account and each machine have their own local admin accounts.I tried the following; 1-Convert

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. New Laptop; Latest windows 10 Pro; Can see local network devices in explorer but cannot access them

    Hi,

    Just setting up a new laptop, and went through the motions of adding my company Microsoft account as the admin user from initial first boot. Silly mistake…. It is linked to an Azure AD from my company’s (I’m the sole director) Office 365 subscription.

    I can see my NAS and other machines populate network devices in file explorer, however when I try and access them, I cannot.

    I’m trying to access these devices as “local network” devices as the others I do not need to be attached to my company Microsoft account and each machine have their own local admin accounts.

    I tried the following;

    1-Convert the new laptop account back to a local account, however the option isn’t there to select

    2-Adding a new local user account to test however i was not able to sign in when trying to switch user. Kept asking for a PIN which didn’t exist, only a password….

    3-Adding the account credentials for the other machines on the local network to the credentials manager, however kept getting bounced back at the password stage each time in file explorer.

    Seems like it should be a simple fix, and possibly something to do with “Windows Hello” features, but am looking for an option without;

    1-moving all rental machines and NAS’s to my companies Azure AD

    2-Still allowing me access to local network devices when I’m on-site and in someone else’s network.

    Explorer missing a network device

    Hi,
    Missing network device - EXTERNALDRIVE
    Since the last Windows 10 update which I installed on Dec. 9 I am missing one devices in Explorer > Network on one of three network computers.
    They are all present on the other two computers. One of these is Windows 10., the other is Vista Premium.
    The complete device list under network is Frankspc, Charlottespc, and Sue_ASUS and ExternalDrive.
    The missing device on the Explorer list on Frankspc is EXTERNALDRIVE. I can ping it at 192.168.1.3
    Any Ideas on how to get it back in the Explorer list?
    Thanks
