Windows 10: New Laptop - Problem with Windows update

I recently got a new laptop. In the process of setting up the laptop, I tried to update the computer to the most recent version of Windows 11, and then when that would not install, the May 2021 Windows 10 update. After attempting to complete the May 2021 Win 10 update, the new computer could not finish the install and sent me to the Windows login screen, where I was forced to enter a username and password. I tried every combination of username/email/phone number that I could think of, but to no avail including my Microsoft account which I had just created hours earlier. In addition, the comp

I will try that... do you think I have complete access to replace the monitor cable without dismantling the laptop from step 1? *Eek!

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
