Discus and support New laptop will not allow me to download the Amazon Kindle app for PC....had it on my old... in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I had to buy new laptop due to old one crashing...cannot get anything off of it.     New laptop will not allow me to download the Amazon Kindle app for PC....had it on my old...


    I had to buy new laptop due to old one crashing...cannot get anything off of it. I was able to download the Kindle app from Amazon, but Microsoft Store is not allowing me to download, and it is not listed on the MS Store list of approved apps. This is not acceptable. Please give me easy to understand directions to get this resolved. I am not extremely tech savvy, so your help is much appreciated.

    Amazon Kindle Application will download but not open.

    Amazon has discontinued the Kindle app for PC. Amazon suggests using the web reader instead. This is likely why the app is not working.

    Kindle for PC App unable to register my device

    With the new Windows 10 update, I have not been able to register my laptop computer as a device to sync my amazon library. After speaking with tech support with Kindle for over an hour, they weren't able to help me find a solution other than telling me that
    "there is a problem with the https." And they suggested that I contact Microsoft. I have added the Kindle for PC app to my exemptions list for Windows Firewall, but still no progress. Any more suggestions?

    Also, I've called Windows' support, but the wait time on the phone was over an hour and a half...

    I think you are correct. Also if my memory is correct, books not stored locally on the tablet have a little cloud icon.

    Amazon keeps a copy of your purchased book in their own "cloud" and you can re-download the book to authorized devices and software as many times as you need to without violating their terms of use agreement. Amazon also allows you to have several different devices the book can be on at the same time - you can run the Kindle app in Windows, a Kindle app on an Android device, and a true Kindle e-reader, all with the same book on it. However, you might have to go into device management on Amazon's website and clear out old devices if, for example, you reload Windows and the Kindle App and it gets detected as a new device.
