    New Laptops Don't Seem to Have Studio Quality Sound


    I'm shopping for a new laptop and high quality sound is important so I can take full advantage of my HD music streaming service. My current Windows 10 PCs both allow me to set the sound sampling rate at 192kHz 24 bit "studio quality", but the new laptops I've been checking-out have a much more limited pull-down menu of sampling rates. The store's tech support is unfamiliar with these settings and suggested the new laptops may simply not include this capability. Before I spend my money on a new computer, I would like to know if there is a way to enable "studio quality" on a 2020 model year Lenovo, HP or similar computer. Manufacturer tech support won"t assist until after the purchase Thanks!

    Sound Quality

    One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

    May not be a speaker problem.

    No studio quality

    I have no options for studio quality in my sound settings. The highest quality option I have is 16 bit 48000 Hz
