    I have already got that and I find it also sometimes does not work
    It will not cast my laptop to my TV
    Only works with my smartphone so I can then use both

    Mine only works with the Surface Book, It won't work with my Alienware and it never find the adapter. It works with SB but tI have to reconnect it everytime is want to use. So i purcahsed the mini-USB to HDMI adapter and allways carry my HDMI cable in my bag.

    Adding to that, instead of spending $50, a HDMI to TV cable will do the same job. Albeit, not wireless.
    That said, if one really wants it .................. knock yourself out.

    The USB connector goes to the power adaptor which plugs to the wall, just like you are charging a smartphone or tablet.
    The other one plugs to the TV's HDMI slot.
    Then the process of setting up with the PC, I guess.

    That's just my guess based on using a Chromecast.

    What's the advantage of this expensive adapter over the 10-15$ Chinese sticks?
    I use a few of these "Anycast" sticks and additionally to Miracast, they also support DLNA(ok) and Airplay(not tested).
    I can cast fine from my Win 10 convertible (off course, you need a Widi compatible chipset, Intel in my case).
    Works like a HDMI cable.
    Casting from newer Android devices works anyway.
