New Mobo means new copy of Windows?

I recently had to replace my motherboard and I was wondering if I had to get a new copy of Windows. Microsoft considers a new motherboard to be a new computer therefore would I absolutely have to buy a new copy of windows? Is there any ways around this? I've already blown almost $100 fixing my PC and I don't wanna spend anymore.

My old Mobo died so I'm not able to access the OS unless I plug the HDD into another PC, since my new Mobo is already installed.
Also worth noting, my main concern is that the PC won't be able to boot properly since the old drivers from the old Mobo are the only things on the HDD, therefore I wouldn't be able to use the troubleshooter, etc.
    Thanks.

    Windows 10

    :)

A new mobo means a new computer for licensing purposes. Windows will go into notification mode. If your previous OS is OEM (pre-installed by the computer manufacturer) you are going to need to buy an OS, regardless of what you do because your old OS will
not activate with a new mobo.

If your old OS is a retail (FPP) copy, then revert to it or reinstall it before you make the hardware change. Then when you change mobos it should reactivate online automatically or you can reactivate by phone. Then you can upgrade to Windows 10 again.

Just connect your HDD to the new motherboard. Windows 10 will update the drivers just fine, it is very tolerant of being moved to a new computer. You will just have to manually activate Windows either with the Activation Troubleshooter or by calling Microsoft.
