Windows 10: New monitor does not work with my laptop but other monitors do work?

Hello everyone,



My new monitor AOC Q27P1 just arrived and I want to try it out but it doesn't seem to detect the signal from my laptop.

It is detected in the display settings in windows so I can set duplicate/extends, monitor resolution, refresh rate etc. but no image appears on the screen, it just keeps saying 'no signal'.



I tried my girlfriends macbook with the new monitor using a tb 2 to hdmi adapter and it works so I think it's not the screen or the cable. Now when I try my laptop on her monitor it does work normally?!

What is going on here? Does it have something to do with the difference in resolution between my built in screen and the external monitor 1440p? Could it have something to do with my discrete gpu?

• Did you check if the external monitor work fine with other systems?

To check if there is any issues with HDMI cable or external monitor, I suggest you to try connecting it to any other Laptop/Computer and check if this works fine.

Dual monitors will not work

I downloaded Windows 10 version 1903 and now my Dual monitors will not work with laptop monitor.

I have disabled the display adapter - AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics and I then can get my dual monitors working BUT there is a black screen on my laptop.

It will not detect the laptop screen.

I would like to have all three so I can choose.

Any suggestions??

• What is the OS Build of your Windows 10? To determine the build of your Windows 10, follow these steps:
  • Click the Windows logo (Start button).
  • Click the gear icon (Settings).
  • Select System.
  • On the left pane, choose About.
• Are you using a laptop or a desktop?
• How are your monitors connected to the computer? Are your monitors connected to the built-in slot of your motherboard or are they connected to the slot of your video card?
• If you're using a desktop, what cables are using to connect your monitors to the computer?
  
• What is happening when you're using a dual monitor set up? Is one of your monitors working? If so, have you checked if the other monitor will work when you use it by itself?

If possible, send a picture of the issue for us to further investigate your concern.
